This was such an intense read, the way you capture the difference between feeling something with absolute certainty and realizing that certainty existed mostly within you was really powerful. Intensity outruns reciprocity stayed with me. Great read<333
siyaa, the way you described the certainty as something that existed mostly within me really got to me. 🥹🤍 I think that was one of the hardest parts of writing this—realizing that something can feel completely mutual inside you before the relationship has actually had time to become mutual in the same way.
And I’m so glad “intensity outruns reciprocity” stayed with you. That line holds so much of what I was trying to understand in this piece: not that the feeling was false, but that its speed and weight had already traveled further than the two of us had together. Thank you for reading this one so closely, siyaa <333
Xiaobian..🥰 the intense emotional honesty running through your gorgeous writing perfectly honors the agonizing friction of pinching out your own heartbeat to protect future encounters from burning into ashes..🫶🏻
Priyanshu, the way you described it as “pinching out your own heartbeat” made me feel that ending all over again. 🥹❤️ I think that was the part that hurt me most too—not simply becoming afraid of loving too intensely, but beginning to distrust the tenderness itself before anything new had even begun.
I didn’t want the ember at the end to mean that love was gone. It was still there, just being guarded almost too carefully. It means a lot that you saw both the fire and the hand trying to put it out, dear Priyanshu. 🫂
Xiaobian, i think that guarded tenderness is such a deeply human thing..🥹❤️ Wanting to protect ourselves after being hurt doesn’t mean the capacity to love has disappeared. It only shows how much that love mattered. Thank you for sharing this beautiful and vulnerable piece with me.. 🫂
I’m glad you saw the tenderness underneath it, Priyanshu. 🥺❤️ It feels easier to share those softer parts when I know they’ll be met gently. I’m grateful for that.🫶
