Oh Xiaobian… seventeen minutes. She came running in cartoon pajamas because you needed her, and that says everything about the love between you. I’m so sorry life carried you into two different worlds before either of you was ready. And yes, we can grieve a friendship… sometimes for years, because the love never received a proper goodbye. 🫶🥹
Per, this made my eyes sting a little. 🥹 You noticed the detail that still brings the whole friendship back to me at once—the seventeen minutes, the cartoon pajamas, the fact that she came running before I had even figured out what I needed to say.
I think that’s what has made this grief so difficult to place. Nothing about that love became less real just because our lives eventually stopped fitting around each other. And what you said about life carrying us into two different worlds before we were ready… that landed very deeply with me.
Maybe some friendships never receive a proper goodbye because neither person ever stopped loving. The love simply lost the life it used to live inside. Thank you for holding this one so gently, Per. 🥹🫶💗
Midsummer flowing from her pen while an endless night was sealed inside your pillbox is such a raw, honest way to describe drifting apart. You beautifully captured how a friendship can end without a villain, leaving the love with nowhere to go, Xiaobian.. 🫶🏻🥹
Ohmygod, it's sad to digest. Choosing different routes, where it wasn't even your choice is so hard to feel, pure friendships don't deserve this, but I would say it's alright, having no hate and moving on is cool for now, sending love <333

The love did not become less real. It simply lost the life it once lived inside.
Thank you for trusting me with this.🫶
